Shhh! Right now, the kids are doing their baseline writing prompt for this school year. They are writing a personal narrative based on a moment in their lives that is important to them. I'm going to enjoy reading these, no matter how tedious it is to grade a writing assignment.
These will show me how much the kids are able to grow as writers throughout this school year. This is kind of like the language arts baseline the kids took last week, and the math baseline they will do soon. No pressure on any of these things, it's just to give us an idea of what they know now as opposed to what they can do at the end of the year.
