Independence

Remember this, guys: They were scared. They were fed up. They were committing treason. By all rights, they should have failed. But this group of men (most of whom were fed up with each other as well) with very opposing viewpoints on nearly all matters, plus a bunch of backwoods hunters, and their wives who were even tougher than them, all came together when it mattered and somehow, thank God and for the betterment of us all, made a new nation.

Enjoy your independence, people! Never stop appreciating it, because not everybody has it.

Because the World Needs More Karate-Chopping Teachers

Hey, everybody! I have another bit of good news for you all. Today at the AAU Karate Nationals, Mr. Shriver won a scholarship for college from the AAU. They only award one to one male and one for a female each year, and I can't think of anyone more deserving than our own Mr. Shriver. It makes me really happy because he is going to school to become a teacher too. He's going to be a great one, as you all know.

Unfortunately, I was unable to go to the Nationals this year, but the fortunately, I did get my hernia taken care of. I had surgery on Monday, and I've been recuperating ever since. Today is the first day I've felt like myself since then, I'm happy to say. Thank you to all of you who have texted or e-mailed to check in on me.
