Binary Thought Patterns

A few things today:
  • THANK YOU to so many of you who turned in your SPICE stuff already. It went home yesterday--look for it! If any of you parents are interested in going, we would love to have you go with us for that day. One addendum is that it looks like, due to rush hour traffic, we will most likely be home closer to 6:00 than 5:30. Remember, the date for this is September 19, which is a Wednesday.
  • I was impressed with the number of students I had who took advantage of their Whoops Sheets stapled to the back of their tests, which I handed back on Tuesday. I have to say I was a little disappointed that not everyone took advantage of this opportunity, though. Even if it's just a few points, it would be great to see everyone do it next time.
  • Tomorrow I will be giving the kids a quiz on adding and subtracting with decimals. While it's not too hard to add or subtract, it can be considered time-consuming. And as with anything "time consuming" with all those little steps, it's easy to make a mistake. Encourage your child to check and recheck their work before they turn it in--especially on a quiz or a test.
  • Caesar's English quiz tomorrow! Go over these roots and stems with the kids. They will pay off in great dividends.
