Right now my Math class is taking the sixth grade math part of the NWEA test. I have to say, I looked at what one of the students was doing, and I literally helped a ninth grader with the exact same type of problem just last night. I told the student that a ninth grader was struggling with the same thing last night. I hope none of my students are kicking themselves for not knowing how to do some of those problems!
Luckily, I told them to just do their best and not worry about it if it's something they've never seen. It must mean they've done really well to get problems that hard.
