Laughter And Nostalgia

The first thing that made Friday so special is that it was Special Friends Day at Woodbrook. Special Friends Day started out as Grandparents' Day, but then we quickly learned that not everyone has grandparents still with us, or not all of them live nearby. In a place like Carmel, which is suburb to a metropolitan city, you get people from all over the nation--in fact, all over the world.

I was so thankful to have so many parents and grandparents make it in for this event. They had so much fun telling the kids all about what school used to be like back in "ye olden days" (I was the same age as some of these parents). They told stories of such unheard-of relics as chalkboards, slide-rules, Mac II's, floppy disks, homemade lunches in schools, and carousel projectors.

Thanks again to everyone who was able to come that day.
