A Many-Splendored Thing

We started our day off today by doing our bus evacuation drills. This put just a little bit of a delay on the start of our day, but safety is always more than worth the time. I always like seeing my fifth graders take the lead during bus evacuation days.

We worked on our memoirs, some pronouns (which can be a little trickier than you might think), grammar; we squeezed in a little Social Studies this afternoon, and in Math, we learned about pan balance problems. Tomorrow we'll turn it into full-blown algebra. (Okay, maybe pre-full-blown-algebra.)

Valentines were doled out, and it was an overall good day today in Area 51. I hope everyone has an awesome Valentine's Day.
