Alright, ladies and gentlemen, here is a quick run-down of some of the highlights of upcoming events around 5-1 and Woodbrook as a whole:
- Grandparents' Day and Special Friends' Day at Woodbrook is on Tuesday, November 24. Grandparents and Special Friends are invited to join the kids in the cafeteria for fifth grade at 10:00 and then come visit the classroom. Looks like I'd better get the kids to help me clean up!
- The United States of Woodbrook, in particular the citizens of Carteropolis, need to hand in their October reading minutes to the office by Wednesday, November 11.
- This week is Woodbrook's Scholastic Book Fair. 5-1's day at the Book Fair is Tuesday, and our time is at 8:30am. The Family Night is also on Tuesday from 5:00-7:30pm.
- Uh, just a small little thing here--the Veteran's Day Program (put on by the fourth grade and Mr. Carter's class) is at 9am on Wednesday, November 11. Please invite any and all veterans you know who are within reasonable traveling distance. This is a great day at Woodbrook and in 5-1 in particular.
- Picture Retake Day is November 18.
- Fall Parties are on November 20 after lunch. Thank you in advance to Mrs. Fuertges and our room moms. We really appreciate all that you do.
- Mr. Z and the Wellness Committee are heading up a Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive all throughout the year. If you are in the store and you think of it, pick up an extra can of peanut butter or an extra jar of jelly. It will go to the food pantry at IPS 56. This is an ongoing thing, so feel free to do this any time!
- The Mane Bash & Silent Auction will be on January 30 at Woodland Country Club at 6:30pm. Please consider donating to the Silent Auction if you are a business owner, have a connection to a company, restaurant, or sports team, if you have season tickets to a sporting event or theater, or if you have some concert tickets you can't use.
