Here's the spelling list from this week:
appear
become
continue
convey
dungeon
encyclopedia
flicker
pressure
remain
vanquish
This week's Latin root is loco-, meaning "place", and some modern examples would be locomotive, local, location, and dislocated.
For my math class, I am also sending home their tests from chapter 5. I am also sending home what I call a "Whoops Sheet" for the kids to make corrections on them. For anyone who makes corrections on their test, puts them on the Whoops Sheet (completely filled out), and then staples it to the front of their test, they will receive half credit back for each point they lost. So a 30/36 could become a 33/36, for instance. That's why pencils have erasers!
Students also have their biography poster due on Wednesday as well as chapter 1 from the book From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler to read and answer the questions given to them today. Both of these things are due on Wednesday, and I told them that this reading does count toward their 20 minutes for tonight. Time management!
