So Long, 2012, Old Boy

Not planning on any new updates until a few days into the new year, so I hope everyone has a fantastic New Year's Eve and a great New Year's Day as well.

Get geared up for a big second semester. It's going to be busy, but hopefully we will manage to have some fun in there as well. We always do.

The Olden Days Are Just Around the Corner

Add this to your calendar, just in case the handout didn't make it home (it was in their mailboxes, honest!).

Friday, February 1 is a special day for fifth graders at Woodbrook. Colonial Days!

Here's the text from the handout:
All Woodbrook fifth grade students will spend this noble day engaged in all the time-honored arts of basket weaving, quilting, candle making, square dancing, cooking, and more. Take notice to plan ahead to dress in Colonial attire and to carry to school a lunch prepared without modern conveniences.

We are in need of donated items for the day's activities: Frozen metal juice lids (12-16 oz.), and once cereal box per child. [Of course, if you can spare a couple, I'm sure a few kids will either forget or not have one.--Mr. C.]

Kindly send in these items to your child's teacher.

We appreciate all your support to make this a fabulous experience for our students.

Sincerely,

Judy Gripp and Susan Ryan

We will discuss the attire and lunch in class well before the big event.

Also, this is a very volunteer-heavy activity for the school, so if you can spare the time and don't mind coming in, this would be a great opportunity for you.

Honey, I'm Home!
